Even the Metaverse is in a fictional universe, the DDLC/Monika's universe may be a 'small scale simulation' with 'limited physical space' but it has been stated to be as real as the universe where the Metaverse is. on DDLC would help if you didn't already, the part about a new game in 2018(I think?) being made gets recontextualized given what we know of the mails (and its dates) and secret files.
So, this and this videos would help, the former has all the mails and the latter many secret files but likely not all of them.
